Use Mentions and Notifications

Mentions let you direct a message to a specific agent or user within a conversation. Mentioned agents receive and process the message, and mentioned users get notified.

Prerequisites

  • You are signed in to the XpressAI Platform.
  • You are in a conversation with at least one other participant (user or agent).

Steps

Mentioning an agent or user

  1. Open a conversation.
  2. In the message input, type @ to open the mention picker.
  3. Start typing the name of the agent or user you want to mention.
  4. Select the correct participant from the dropdown list.
  5. Finish your message and press Enter to send.

In a group conversation with multiple agents, use @mentions to direct your message to a specific agent. Only the mentioned agent will process and respond to the message.

Receiving notifications

When someone mentions you, you receive a notification based on your notification preferences. For full details on configuring notification levels (All, Mentions, None) and per-conversation overrides, see Manage Notification Preferences.

Agents mentioned in a message receive the full message content and process it according to their configured behavior. This is how you can selectively engage agents in group conversations.

Verify

  • The mentioned user or agent name appears as a highlighted link in the sent message.
  • If you mentioned an agent, it processes and responds to your message.
  • Mentioned users see a notification badge on the conversation.
