Connect to a Desktop via VNC

Access your cloud desktop's graphical interface through your browser or an external VNC client.

Prerequisites​

  • You are signed in to the XpressAI Platform.
  • You have a provisioned desktop in Ready status (see Provision a Cloud Desktop).

Steps​

Connect in the browser​

  1. Navigate to Settings > Desktops.
  2. Find the desktop you want to access.
  3. Click Connect.
  4. A VNC session opens in your browser via WebSocket proxy, showing the desktop's graphical interface.

Connect with an external VNC client​

  1. Navigate to Settings > Desktops.
  2. Find the desktop you want to access.
  3. Click Download Config to get the VNC connection file.
  4. Open the downloaded file in your preferred VNC client (for example, RealVNC, TigerVNC, or TightVNC).
tip

The in-browser VNC client works without any additional software. Use an external client if you need better performance or advanced features like clipboard sharing.

Verify​

  • The VNC session displays the desktop's graphical interface.
  • You can interact with the desktop using your mouse and keyboard.
  • Applications on the desktop respond to your input.
